White Mountains New Hampshire
After a couple of months in the Canadian maritimes it's time to head back to Alabama. gonna go back through the backwoods of the northeast. Today we get to see the White Mountains. I've heard of these mountains... excited today.
The White Mountains are part of the Appalachian mountain range that runs from back home-- the foothills of Alabama-- on up into Newfoundland that we just left a month ago. -- see the posts from Gros Morne, Newfoundland-- .
Back roads into the heart of New Hampshire....Green in late summer now... I would love to be here a couple months from now to see the leaves turning. The fall colors... the leaves turning are world renown... just too early now... and they are beautiful today.
Deep into the heart of New Hampshire... looking at these mountains that are home to hearty folk... I know now why they had the battle cry of "Live Free or Die".
A cloud layer over the mountains today.... looking over the valleys and mountain peaks... very peaceful and serene. Driving past the granite rock cuts on the road... amazing rock structures that form these Appalachian mountain ranges. A good day.
