To the White Mountains from Gorham, New Hampshire

After putting around in Gorham, New Hampshire... Moose country... a really neat New England town....head out of hwy 16s to the White mountains. I have heard of the White Mountains and am excited to get to drive the range.

The Androscoggin river valley is close by... and immediatly begin going into the majestic views of the White Mountain range. We have to stop at a mountain stream and wade for a few minutes. The rule of the Tracks of the StoneBear is that we don't pass by a stream that we can wade in for a few minutes and enjoy the day.

New Hampshire granite rocks, eroded by a mountain stream for ions of time are beautiful, The sound of the rushing water is peaceful.

A few more miles up the drive we come to one of the many New Hampshire ski resorts.... no snow now in off season August... you can see the ski trails cut into the green mountain forests. A couple of months from now... this place will be jumpin' with ski activity.

A few more miles and we come to the Pinkham Notch station. This is the hikers station for the Appalachian trail. The 2,400 mile Appalachian trail has an outpost here for hikers.... and some are around on the grounds,,,, forming up for their next leg of their hike. ....Pit stops and double checks for their hiking journey; godspeed hikers.
