Wake up this am at Cranberry camp. Strong Black coffee-- good! ... MOSquitos.... BAD... let's get out of here.
Head out Hwy 4 west, driving the Sunrise Trail , waffeling on Trans Canada Hwy 104 west. Nova Scotia, along the North Umberland Straights coast.
Nova Scotia countryside. Farms
We come to New Glasgow. and old world town.... unique. Some olde ,... some new.
Parked downtown near the library to check email. New Glasgow citizens warned us quickly that the police were quick to give out parking tickets..
A veteran told me to go up to the Legion and park in their lot for an hour. Went in and asked the guys if it would be ok to park in their lot. OK !!!
The veterans there at the Royal Canadian Legion were squared away guys. I could tell from thier manor and their demeanor,... tall,... direct,... commanding... A #1 squared away ! Of the few Canadian veterans I've been privy to talk w/... straight shooters.... they said park in their lot. The Marine cap helped!
Walked back down to the library.... around a few blocks of town... Gazebo by the river. Bridge onto Pictou
a neat town.
